The Admission Timeline

If at any time you have a questions regarding college/scholarship information please make an appointment with your school counselor.

Senior Year:

Monitor your school email for information from your senior counselor!

Confirm you meet the core requirements for the colleges you are interested in attending

Take/Re-take ACT/SAT by December
-
Sign up for the college representatives who visit West High (sign-up sheets in Counseling Office)

Visit colleges campuses before applying (if possible)

Apply to all schools you are considering – be aware of each school's deadline for scholarship eligibility

Establish a contact person at each school, typically this is an admissions counselor

Apply for your FSA ID (www.fafsa.ed.gov). This is required prior to filing the FAFSA

Start your FAFSA – October 1

Visit the websites of colleges to which you are applying to investigate other potential scholarship opportunities (Departmental, President’s, etc.)

At least once per month visit West High’s website

Read Senior Newsletter
-
Review scholarship information; pay attention to application deadlines!

Narrow choices to a few schools, but always have more than one choice

Monitor your email for any correspondence from colleges and respond promptly

Consider financial aid offers and notify colleges if you are/are not attending

Meet with your senior counselor to finalize where your final transcript should be sent

Contact MO Baptist and/or UMSL to request your college credit transcript be sent to the college you are attending in the fall

Confirm your AP scores have been sent to college you are attending in the fall
